Vehicle overturns on Hwy 321 in Parrottsville
Patricia Denise Shults, 45, of 116 Bacon Valley Road, in Parrottsville, was seriously injured following an accident when she was driving south on Old Highway 321 in Parrottsville on Friday, March 11, at about 6:30 p.m. About one mile before the intersection of the old and new Highway 321, her 2011 Kia Soul went off the right shoulder of the road into a ditch, hit a culvert, and flipped over before coming to rest on its side in the southbound lane. Shults was taken by ambulance to Baptist Hospital of Cocke County and then flown to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. A hospital spokesperson on Monday, March 14, said she had been released from the center, but did not release any further details, such as the date of her release.

Denise (Neasey) Shults Kelley, age 47, of Bybee passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Newport Medical Center. She is survived by her husband, Billy Kelley of Bybee; parents Roger and Lillian Shults of Newport; brothers Lynn (Lisa) Shults of Newport and Maurice (Debbie) Shults of Newport; sister Deborah (Tim) Williams of Cosby; stepchildren Chuck (Genia) Kelley of Newport; Clinton (Tammy) Kelley of Alabama, Maureen (Scott) Vickers of Ohio and David (Mallory) Kelley of Ohio; special great nephew Ivan Lynn Shults and special great niece Kara Grace Shults both of Cosby; special friend Marcie (Chad) Fox of Newport; eleven step grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; also several nephews, nieces and other family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Monday, April 1, 2013 at Manes Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Raines and Rev. Doug Messer officiating. Burial will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the Shults Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday prior to family funeral services. Pallbearers will be Joshyua Shults, Kyle Kelley, Steven Shults, Daniel Shults, Christian Kelley and Travis Williams. Family and friends may sign the guest register online at www.manesfuneralhome.com.
