Mrs. Thelma "Mamam" Shults, age 79, of Cosby, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016, at Newport Medical Center.
Mrs. Shults was preceded in death by her Mother Maude Styles; father and step mother Gona and Dave Baxter; former husband Albert Monroe "Sharky" Costner; son Eston Albert Costner; step sons Rodney Shults, David, Roger and Tommy Costner; niece Robin Shults; nephews Marty Shults and John Patton Gregg.
Survivors include her husband Johnny Shults of Cosby; grandchildren Samantha (Danny Ray) Reece of Cosby and Tyler Shults of Georgia; great grandsons Samuel and Daniel Reece both of Cosby; step daughter Carolyn (Clyde) Hill of Cosby; daughter-in-law Jan (John) Slone of Cosby; sister/ cousin Faye and Wayne Bice of Cosby; brothers-in-law Bob (Sue) Shults, Gene (Margie) Shults of Cosby; sister-in-law Annette Mason of Newport; nieces and nephews Steve, Diane and Melissa Gregg, Brittany Stooksbury, Tammy and Patti Mason, Quindel and Shelia Shults. Step granddaughters Trish Thornton and Deanna Williams; Benj and Lindsey Reece who thought of as grandchildren: Additional survivors include special friends Juanita And Ralph Fancher, Lesa, Bryan and Maddie Allen, Bent Creek Golf Resort Family, Tiger and Rayann Gullett of Nashville, Roy and Melissa Jenkins of Cosby, Esther and Jay Thornton and many other friends.
The funeral service will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday evening, September 27, 2016 in the Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leon Large and Rev. Randy Forbes officiating.
Family and friends will meet 9:45 am Wednesday at Marty Shults Cemetery for the 10 a.m. interment.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at Costner-Maloy prior to the service.
