Iva Smith Freeman, age 99, of Del Rio, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at her home. She regularly attended Del Rio First Church of God where she led singing years ago. She and her sisters were requested to sing at many church functions and funerals. She was a very loving person who loved to care for all those around her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd A Freeman; parents, ‘Art’ and Mary Smith; brothers, Euel, Floyd, Doyle, and Arthur Smith; sisters, Leone and Ruby Smith, and Bureda Finchum. She is survived by her sons, Burnett Ray (Judy) Freeman and Dennis (Rosie) Freeman; daughter, Alice Faye Freeman; grandchildren, Maritsa (David) Green, Randall (Jessica) Freeman, and Amy (Dan) Beck; great-grandchildren, Kyle and Troy Green, Abram Roberts, Henry Freeman, and Aria Beck; sisters, Louie Turner and Loiree Collins; sisters-in-law, Belle Smith, Dean Smith, and Bea Freeman; several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends; special friend, Jack Allen; and special caregivers, Gail Samples, Nancy Chambers, and Renae Turner. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm Thursday, February 4, 2016, at Manes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Friday, February 5, 2016, at Del Rio First Church of God, with Rev. Bobby Morrison officiating. The body will lie in state from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm, at the church prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in the Clark Cemetery at Deep Gap.
