U.S. Veteran Lawrence (Bud) Styles, age 92, of Parrottsville, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 30, 2013, but now is alive in the presence of our Heavenly Father, Praise God. Bud was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in WWII. He retired from A. C. Lawrence Leather Company after 25 years, then worked for Quaker Oats for 10 years, after that he retired to camping, and walking in Cades Cove. He was of the Baptist faith and attended church as long as his health permitted. He loved to sing and gave God the glory. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Cassie Mae Styles; children, Joe Dewey, James Neal and Jerald Wayne Styles; his parents, Joseph and Susie Walker Styles; his brothers, Charlie (Pete) Styles, Jim Styles and Beecher Styles; sisters. Mae Cogburn, Sarah Shelton and Bertha Coggins. He is survived by his children; Jimmy (Sharon) Styles, Johnny (Charlotte) Styles, Jackie (Colleen) Styles, Judy (Jimmy) Hensley, Jay Harold (Lois) Styles; daughter-in-law, Kathy Styles; sisters, Grace (Lanford) Gentry of Clarksville, TN, Faye (Frank) Wilson, Knoxville, TN; seventeen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; also numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends. The family would like to Thank Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Manes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jerry Raines and Rev. Billy Williams officiating.. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, with VFW military honors. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity or Church of your choice.
