Mr. Robert Minnis Strange, age 79 of Del Rio went to be with the Lord on November 2, 2013.
He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.
He was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Strange served as a plant manager for Caterpillar Tractor for 15 years. He then became a sales representative and worked an additional 39 years for Combined Insurance.
He was preceded in death by his son Joseph Roy Strange, parents Floyd and Sally Strange, sister Alice Parks and brother Ted Strange.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years Lawanda Dale Holt Strange of the home, his children Julia Strange of Del Rio, Sarah Strange of Maryville, Laura Strange of Newport, Robin Strange of Morton, IL, Jeffery Strange of Birmingham, AL and Scott (Rhonda) Strange of Russellville, AK, 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, sisters Dorothy Strange of Dandridge, Bernice Miller of Del Rio, Gladys Willis, Imogene Rathbone, and Wilma Sprouse, all of Newport and Irene (Everett) Pack of Del Rio, and brother Floyd Strange Jr. of Del Rio. Additional survivors include several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Following cremation at Robert's request, a memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening in the Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to help cover the final expenses.
