Happy 90th to Velma Lunsford
Velma Valentine Lunsford will celebrate her 90th birthday March 11, 2010. She has lived in Sevier and Cocke Counties her entire life. She was married to Torrel Lunsford for 54 years prior to his death in 1994. She has two sons, Rev. James and Rose Lunsford of Jones Cove, and Gene and Phyllis Lunsford of Cosby, and a daughter Ruby and Jack Sutton of Cosby. She has 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also the mother of the late Robert (Bobby) Lunsford. One granddaughter Jamie is also deceased. She will celebrate with a dinner at home with family and friends.

Velma V. Lunsford, age 93, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Newport Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Torrell Lunsford; sons, Rev. James (Jim) Lunsford, Robert (Bobby) Lunsford; and granddaughter, Jamie Lunsford Hurst. She is survived by her daughter, Ruby(Billy Jack) Sutton of Cosby; son, Gene (Phyllis) Lunsford; daughters-in-law, Rose Lunsford and Kay Lunsford; grandchildren, Robby Lunsford, Judy (Roy) Fine, Tammy (Jimmy) Brooks, Monica Lunsford, Angie (Brad) Rogers, Luann Ward (Rick Ogle), Shanna (Jason) Lane and great-grandchildren, Kimberly Raines, Savanna Rogers, Kelly Lunsford, Caitlin Ward, Hope Brady, Faith Brady, Gabriella Hurst and Hunter Hurst, Robbie Lunsford Perry; also brother, Arlie (Faye) Valentine of Nevada and sister-in-law Betty Valentine of Cosby. Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm Friday, June 28, 2013 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Randall Freeman and Rev. Clifford Ball officiating. Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 29, 2013 in Valentine Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.
