NEWPORT--Three Cocke County High School seniors will be presented at the 45th annual Teen Board Presentation Dance on Saturday, Aug. 13, in Knoxville.
The Teen Board Presentation Dance is one of the largest teenage black tie dances in the country where teenagers and adults alike enjoy the same social occasion.
Last year, hundreds of leading teenagers, as well as adults from various parts of the United States, enjoyed the same event.
Teen Board of Knoxville is a private, non-profit organization solely for teenagers (14-18 years) with adult help. Its purpose is to get the teenagers to work and take the lead in civic and welfare projects, and to lift their social and moral life to higher standards.
Last year, more than 12,000 hours were given to civic and welfare projects for charitable organizations.
The weekend will begin with a party on Friday evening, Aug 12, at the Teen Center.
On Saturday, Aug. 13, practice and brunch will be held for the teenagers only, followed by the mayor's dinner at 5:30 p.m.
Saturday's activities continue at Knoxville Civic Coliseum, where the presentees will be presented, important dignitaries will be introduced, adults will have a black-tie reception, and breakfast will be served.
