Sylvia Sue Wild Hawk, born April 23, 1938, died April 6, 2015. She was a charter member of Memorial Baptist Church where she was active in WMU, the church historian and was looking forward to establishing the library for Memorial Baptist Church. Sue was a retired teacher of Cocke County, was a member of Cocke County Retired Teachers Association and served as president for several years. She was an active member of other organizations in Cocke County. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Bernard and Helen (Suggs) Wild; sister, Nancy Ruth Wild; and sister-in-law, Loretta Balch Wild. She is survived by her husband, Jack Emerson Hawk; son, Mark Blake Hawk and his wife Stacy (Witherspoon) Hawk; grandson, Blake Alexander Hawk; sister, Elizabeth Ann Wild (YJ) Parks; brothers, Bobby Gene Wild, Judson Carson (JC) and wife Louise (Rich) Wild; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a special “Thank You” to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice and to care giver, Kay Hawk. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the building fund of Memorial Baptist Church, P. O. Box 1132, Newport, TN 37822. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm – 3:00 pm Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Manes Funeral Home. Graveside funeral to follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Rev. Harold Ball and Rev. Glen Bradley officiating.
