- David McGary was a carpenter and contractor in Shiremanstown, Hampden Township,
Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
On 1 April 1856 and again on 8 October 1857 David McGarry, a carpenter of
Shiremanstown, Hampden Township, Cumberland County, with his wife Elizabeth
sold lots in Shiremanstown.
In the 1860 census of Shiremanstown David McGary, carpenter aged 41 years was
living with E. McGary aged 35, M. R. McGary aged 9, H. W. McGary aged 9, H. W.
McGary aged 7 and R. M. McGary aged one year.
On 20 January 1862 David McGary of Lower Allen Township deeded into the
"separate estate of his wife Elizabeth" a house and lot in Shiremanstown, which
the couple had bought on 29 March 1856.
The will of David McGary of Shiremanstown, written 2 May 1874, probated 13 July
1874, bequeathed to his wife Elizabeth all property, including 40 by 200 foot
lot bounded by Jeremiah Kohler, Oak Alley and John Freese's heirs. Witnesses:
G. S. Bruckart, M. D., and Henry Learing.
