(September 4, 1936 - July 1, 2007) U.S. Veteran Carroll Williamson, age 70, of Cosby, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2007 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ida Whitlock Williamson. He was of Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of Newport Masonic Lodge # 234, and was very active in the Cosby community. He is survived by his wife, Alma Williamson, of Cosby; son and daughter-in-law, Kelly Williamson of Cosby and Robin Williamson, of Newport; two beloved grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, Isaac Williamson, age 6, and Alyssa Williamson, age 4; brother, Harold Williamson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Herbert and Dorothy Williamson, all of Newport; Hoover and Vida Williamson, of Grassy Fork; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends, including his special friends at Shirley’s Restaurant. Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm, Tuesday, July 3, 2007 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Cleo Williamson and Rev. Stephen Swann officiating. Burial will be held 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 4, 2007 in Union Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Jerry Cody, Chris Layman, Victor Shults, Carl Williams, Roger Stokely, Warren Bryant, G. W.
