Susan Beason Williamson, age 76, of Newport, a member of Rays Chapel Baptist Church, passed away June 21, 2002, at Fort Sanders Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ovie Williamson; brother, James Beason; and sisters, Mary Lou Mitchell and Sally Kelsey. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Ricky Gregg; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Fay Williamson; four grandchildren, Michelle Lewis, Angela Gatens, Dione Kyker, and Dennis Williamson; and five great-grandchildren, all of Newport; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Fancher officiating with burial in the Union Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Manes Funeral Home. Those serving as pallbearers are Kenny Lewis, Chris Archer, Scott Williamson, Steve Williamson, Jeff Stokely, and Gary Shropshire. Manes Funeral Home is in charge.
