Robert Edgar Williamson, age 86, of Seymour, entered into rest July 23, 2009, at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville. He was a longtime member of Madison Ave. Baptist Church in Maryville. A World War II Army Veteran and member of the 610th Engineers, he was retired from ALCOA with 45 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Virgie Williamson of Cosby; sister, Elora Powers; brothers, Dee R. Williamson, Hoover Williamson and Kenneth Williamson. Survivors are his loving and devoted wife, Carrie B. Williamson of Seymour; sons, Steve and wife Kathy Williamson of Seymour and John Williamson of Maryville; grandchildren, Kelley Williamson, Jesse Williamson, Cole Williamson and Jason Loveday; brother, Donald Williamson of Newport; several nieces and nephews, special friends and church family. The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Saturday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with funeral service at 6 p.m. with Rev. Glenn Grubb officiating. Entombment 2 p.m. Sunday. Grandview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Maryville, with Rev. Glenn Cummings officiating and military honors by East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard.
