Susie Jane Smith, age 78, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at her home in the Tuscumbia community near Booneville, Mississippi.
She was born on November 8, 1935, in Cocke County, Tennessee, to George Washington Stinnett and Pearl Henry Stinnett, the oldest of eleven children.
Sue was married to Bobby Marion Smith on March 5, 1959, 59 years ago. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Sue enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sewing. She also enjoyed getting out and visiting. Her greatest loves were her family and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Bobby M. Smith of Booneville; two daughters Karen McCutchen (Paul) of Pisgah, Mississippi, and Jennifer Murphy (Mickey) of Tupelo, Mississippi; two sons Michael (Rita) Smith of Leesburg, Virginia, and Wayne (Wendy) Smith of Booneville, MS; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Surviving sisters include Betty Shultz (Jim) of King William, Virginia, Joyce Roberts (Eldie) and Barbara Hudson (Sherman), all of Newport ; and Sharon Trentham (Larry) of Parrottsville.
Her surviving brothers are J. B. (Shirley) Stinnett, Cleo Stinnett (Florine), and Junior Stinnett (Doris), all of Newport and Orville Stinnett of Tazewell, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Pearl Stinnett and two sisters Willa Dean Shultz and Verlane Stinnett.
She will be laid to rest in the Smith Family Cemetrey in Prentiss County.
