Died: 08/07/2000 Earl Leroy Lowe, 77, of Grassy Fork, passed away Monday afternoon at his home following a lengthy illness. He attended the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Earl was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy. He had worked for the Elyria Steel Co. in Elyria, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leota and William Lowe; sister, Wilma Clark; and brothers, Shelah and Ruben Lowe. He is survived by his daughter, Connie Jean Caldwell, and grandchildren, Sonya Harden and Suzette Robeinson, all of Cleveland, Tennessee; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Novella Blakely and Estivee Lyda and her husband, Paul, all of Greenville, South Carolina, Daisy Fulton and her husband, Robert, of Belmont, Ohio, Martha Shelton and her husband, James of Newport, and Velma Barnes of Maryville; and a beloved niece, Diana Black, of Grassy Fork. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Randall Freeman officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery with military rites provided by Newport D.A.V. Chapter #102. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Brown Funeral Home. Brown Funeral Home is in charge. [S147] Find a Grave, (Memorial: 91187970).
