She attended the University of Tennessee and eventually moved to Augusta where she has lived for the last 49 years. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was member of the First Baptist Church of Augusta, where she was a member of the Friendship Bible Class. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 14, 2003 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Timothy Owings officiating. Pallbearers will be Jack OTyson, Tom Hennessy, Frank England, Powell Sheffer, Eugene Clark, Clinton Lewis and Ed Dickson. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Friendship Bible Class. (Pallbearers and Honoraries should report to First Baptist Church by 10:30 a.m. on Friday) The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Thomas Poteet and Son.
