Tessie Mae Click Yates, age 93, of 274 New Prospect Church Road, Laurens, SC, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2010, at Laurens County Hospital. She was the widow of Cole Blease Yates. Born in Del Rio, TN, she was the daughter of the late Marion Stephen and Marcelia Fish Click. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are two daughters: Dorothy Mae Yates Feld (Charles) and Peggy Yates Davis (Milton, Jr.), all of Laurens; four sons: James Harold Yates (Faye) of Laurens; Donald Eugene Yates (Barbara) of Marietta, SC; Ronald Edward Yates (Hazel) of Travelers Rest, SC; and Barry Lane Yates (Wanda) of Gray Court, SC; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at Bethel Baptist Church conducted by Rev. James K. Hamilton and Rev. Jack Reid with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends after the service in the fellowship hall of the church.
