Betty Hazel Self, age 79, of Newport, passed away Monday, May 25, 2009 at Newport Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was member of Harned Chapel United Methodist Church, and retired employee of Vernco. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Doshia Reece; brothers, Willie Reece and Buddy Reece; sisters, Mary Reece, Lillie Reece; and son-in-law, Charlie Talley. She is survived by daughters, Linda Talley, Newport, Bettye (Norman) Cagle, Powell, Joyce (Kenneth) Eidson, Newport; brother, Clifford (Marzella) Reece, Cleveland, TN; sisters, Estelle Reece and Lucy Smith, both of Del Rio; grandsons, Rick (Alicia) Talley, Newport, Ray Talley, Cosby, Jason (Chrystal) Talley, Newport, Mike (Tonya) Cagle, Chris (Wendy) Cagle, both of Powell, Scott Eidson, Newport; granddaughter, Lori (Shannon) Gentry, Newport; great-grandchildren, Megan , Emma, Madison, Cory, Logan, Dustin and Cameron Talley, Meleah, Caleb, Makayla, Makena, Cameron, Jordan Cagle, and Morgan Gentry; granddaughter-in-law, Lisa Talley, Newport; Uncle Toy Reece, Newport; also nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm, Thursday, May 28, 2009 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Randy Webb of Knoxville officiating. Burial will be 10:00 am, Friday, May 29, 2009 in Harned Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
