He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Eliza Pierce; brothers, Clyde, Fain, and Curtis Pierce; sisters, Helen Turner and Bonnie Ford; grandson, Matthew David Pierce. He is survived by his wife, Joanne Pierce of Newport; sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Teresa Pierce of LaVergne, TN, David and Kay Pierce of Newport, Freddy and Lynette Pierce of Newport; son, Oral Pierce; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Glen Black of Newport, Myra and Jackie Satterfield of Morristown; brothers, Carrol Pierce of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Earl Pierce of Griffith, Indiana; sisters, Mayme Goree of Spokane, Washington, Anna Lee Fraley of Newport and Dorothy Ball of Newport; sixteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; also a life long friend Bertie Ellison. Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm Wednesday, March 7, 2007 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. John Hughes officiating. Burial will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, March 8, 2007 in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
