Robert Earl Pierce of Charlotte, N.C., formerly of Del Rio, and Clinton Tennessee, died Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. He attended Black Oak Old Fashion Baptist Church in Gary, IN. He was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge in Clinton, and was a veteran of WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgie Johnson Pierce; father, Robert Lee Price; mother, Eliza Clark Pierce; brothers, Clyde, Troy, Curtis Fain Pierce and wife Mary Lou Pierce; sisters, Helen Turner and husband, Herbert Lee, Bonnie Ford and husband John Ike. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Lewis and Linda Pierce of Hobert, IN., Larry and Jill Pierce of Charlotte, NC; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon (Sharri) and Jess Rockwell, Griffith, IN.; brother, Carol Pierce of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mamie and Paul Goree, Mt. Vernon, Washington, Dorothy and Charles Ball and Ruby AnnnaLee and James Fraley of Newport; sisters-in-law, Joann Pierce of Newport, and Blanch Pierce of Maryville; grandchildren, Christy and Taylor Pierce, Brandy and Robert Tyler Rockwell and Ginger Howard (Wess); great-grandchildren, Kyley Rockwell, Ricky and Niclos Howard. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Brown Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday, July 15, at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Sims officiating. Friends may call anytime Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Union Cemetery. Brown Funeral Home in charge.
