Jonah Seay, 90, passed away Saturday, April 6 in Knoxville, TN. He was a native of Del Rio, TN.
He was a member of Scott Memorial Church of God, was a trucker for 27 years with ET & WNC Lines and was a member of the Teamsters locals, # 519 in Knoxville and in Johnson City.
Jonah was preceded in death by his parents, Enos and Della Clark Seay; Mabel, his wife of 60 years; brothers Hugh, Ernest and Clayton; sisters, Eva Gregory, Eulah Bradley, Flora Seay and DovieWillis: 3 brothers and a sister died as infants, as did 2 grandchildren, Cynthia Moses and Ginger Fugent.
Survivors include children, Merelyn (Kenneth) Moses, Patricia Seay, Brice (Janice) Seay, Joyce (Denis) Gallagher and Jonathan Dwight (Portia) Seay; Grandchildren, Susan Moses, Lisa Adams, Candice and Amber Seay, Melissa Montgomery and Karen Zondo; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Ralph (Glennie) Seay and Ozias Seay; and a sister, Mary (Furman) Woody.
The family will receive friends from 4 PM to 7 PM Wednesday at the North Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday at North Chapel with interment to follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
