Lacy Leroy (Roy) Self, age 93, of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at his home. He was born July 23, 1915, in Cocke County, Tennessee. He was a long time member of Grace Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Smith and Sally Clark Self; wife, Bessie Carpenter Self; infant daughter, Carolyn Jean Self; grandson, Samuel LeRoy Self; brothers, William Nathan Self, Charles Emmett Self, Elbert Smith Self, Monia Lewis Self, John Greer Self, Woodrow Wayne Self, Edward Gwin Self and sister, Evelyn Ann Self Wilds. He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, LeRoy and Jane Self, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and Ronnie and Marilyn Self, of Morristown; daughters and sons-in-law, Geraldine Jinks, of Mooresburg; Diane and David Sawyer and Sandra and Dan Hicks, of Morristown; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Sister, Helen Self Ponder, of Del Rio, and sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Ezra Stewart, of Morristown; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, September 13, 2008, at Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Todd Stinnett and the Rev. Ralph Benfield officiating. Interment will follow in Jarnagin Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday, September 12, 2008, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Mayes Family Services. Arrangements by Mayes Family Services, Morristown.
