He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation, Newport, TN. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his parents, Gray and Cora Clark, and by an infant brother, Ernest Clark. He is survived by his wife, Betty L. Clark; two daughters: Linda Clark Hunt and Leslie Clark Dillman-Watson; three grandsons and great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include five sisters and brothers-in-law: Oree and J. B. Soesbee, Waynesville, NC; Orpha and Claude Burrell, Canton, NC; Judy and Oliver Kent, Newport; Iva Dean and Jack Henderson, Brownsville, TX; and LouVerna and LeRoy Medford, Dothan, AL. He also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation, Newport, on Sunday, August 9, 2009, at 3 p.m. with Father David Garrett officiating. The family will receive friends in the parish hall at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church building fund or to the Newport Animal Shelter.
