Audra Carlisle Ford, age 81 of Newport, passed away Wednesday, November 11,2009. Audra was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend and Mrs Leslie Carlisle; her husband John Fletcher Ford; daughter Rebecca Jane Ford; sister, Cleo Huff; and special brother-in- law Floyd Branam. Audra was a faithful member of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church and was active in the Shelton Circle and a member of the Marty Medford Sunday School class. She was also Superintendent of the Beginner Sunday School and GA's. Audra was a graduate of the Cocke County High School class of 1945 and attended East Tennessee State University and later taught school in Cocke County. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Gary and Ella Ford; daughter, Mary Alice Miller; grandchildren, Molly Katherine Ford, Cheyenne and Christian Miller all of Newport; sister, Mary Carlisle Branam of Newport; and brother-in-law Dr. Donald R. Ford of Atlanta, Ga; sister-in-law Velma Ford of Knoxville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 13, 2009 at 7:00 PM at Manes Funeral Home chapel with Dr.'s Craig Ward and Charlie Boggan officiating. Interment will be 10:00AM Saturday November 14, 2009 in the Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 PM Friday November 13 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the East TN Chapter of The Alzheimer's Association located at 2200 Sutherland Ave., Suite H 102,Knoxville,Tn 37919.
