Sara Blanche Maddron, age 89, formerly of Newport, TN was called home to be with the Lord, March 13, 2008, at her home in Marshall, North Carolina. She was the wife of a First Church of God minister and was a partner with him in his ministry in East Tennessee and Western North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. E. R. Maddron; daughter, Helen Evenson; parents, Charles and Hattie Carlisle; sisters, Ethel Lunsford, Orpha Lunsford, Pearl Ford, and Helen Dockery; brother, Everett Carlyle.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn and Mary Maddron of Lenoir City, TN and Jerry and Alice Maddron, of Marshall, North Carolina; brother, Berlin Carlisle of Weaverville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Jan Whitford and husband Andy, of Athens, Ga, Kim Maddron of Knoxville, TN; great grandchildren, Anna and Max Whitford of Athens, GA; three step grandchildren; and several step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, March 15, 2008 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Tony Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Clark Cemetery, Deep Gap. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2:00 pm Saturday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
