Born in Del Rio, TN on Apr. 17, 1911
Died on Jan. 29, 2009 and resided in Weaverville, NC.
William Berlin Carlisle, 97, went to be with the Lord on January 29, 2009 at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center in Asheville, NC.
Mr. Carlisle had lived most of his life in Greenville, SC but due to declining health had lived the past two and a half years with his daughter Fran and son-in-law Earl Eskew in Weaverville, NC.
He was born on April 17, 1911 in Del Rio, TN. He was retired from Dunean Mill in Greenville and was a member of the Carolina Heights Church of God of Prophecy.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Charlie and Hattie Clark Carlisle, as well as his wife of fifty-three years, Vastoria Lee Carlisle; his second wife of sixteen years, Galvesta Dempsey Carlisle; a son, John David Carlisle and a daughter, Elizabeth Lell; one brother Everette Carlisle, four sisters, Pearl Ford, Ethel Lunsford, Orpha Lunsford and Blanche Maddron.
He is survived by one son, Everette Carlisle and wife Wilma of Weaverville, NC, one daughter, Fran Eskew and husband Earl of Weaverville, NC; three granddaughters, Priscilla McAbee and husband Barry of Easley, SC, Dina Cathey and husband Rick of Weaverville, NC, Karen Watson of Pelzer, SC; two grandsons, Dion Eskew of KY and Lee Carlisle of Weaverville, NC; two great-grandsons, four great-granddaughters, four great-great grandsons and two great-great granddaughters.
The family will receive friends at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest on White Horse Road on Saturday, January 31, 2009 between the hours of 1:30 p.m. – 2:45p.m. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 p.m.
The Reverend Karen Durham and the Reverend Bruce Sullivan will officiate.
Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery West on White Horse Road.

The family will be at their respective homes.
