(July 12, 1949 - December 8, 2006) John Glen Ellison, age 57, of Newport, passed away on Friday evening, December 8, 2006 at Cocke County Baptist Hospital. Johnny had been in declining health for the past several years and suffered an apparent heart attack. Johnny was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Glen and Marie Clark Ellison of Del Rio; grandparents, Bill Joe and Frances Jones of Newport; father-in-law, Frank Huff, Jr. of Del Rio. Johnny is survived by his loving and faithful wife of thirty years, Jessie Huff Ellison; his mother, Juanice Jones Ellison of Newport; aunts, Peggy Jones of Newport, Joyce Jones Valentine and husband Ron of Gatlinburg; uncle, Charles Jones of Newport. He is also survived by four half sisters, Karen Ellison Arrington and husband Jerry of Santa Rosa, California, Glenda Ellison Gregg of Del Rio, Emma Lee Ellison Smith and husband Scott of Connecticut, Lauren Ellison of Morristown; a step-bother, Marty Clark and his family in Knoxville. Johnny is also survived by his mother-in-law, Cleo Huff of Del Rio; sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Huff Taylor, Betty Ann Huff and Jane Huff Cureton and husband Bill of Del Rio; brother-in-law, Stephen Huff and wife Amy of Newport; nieces and nephews, Susan Taylor of Nashville, Jessie Huff of Newport, Katherine Cureton Swan and husband Shane of Cosby, Todd Cureton and wife Angie of Del Rio, Annisa Gregg of Del Rio, Ethan Arrington of California and Justin Thomas of Newport; great nephew, Will Cureton, of Del Rio. John will be missed by many friends, neighbors and other family members. Memorial services will be held 8:00 pm Monday, December 11, 2006 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Scott Gorrell officiating.Family will receive friends 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. Monday prior to the service.
