Brooks, 78, of Newport, passed away Monday, November 22, 2004, at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital. He was a member of West End Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beadie Brooks. Survivors include his daughters, Karen Bryant, of Newport, and Linda Joyce Watts, of Long Beach, N.C.; daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and H.C. Reese, of Dandridge, and Jaynean and Joe Cody, of Newport; sons and daughter-in-law, Randall and Sherri Brooks, of Sevierville, and Larry and Darlene Brooks, of Newport; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2004, at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Mooty officiating. Pallbearers are Larry Miller, J.R. Rathbone, Jerry Bryant, Dean Williams, Robbie, Andy Cody and honoree J.C. Thornton. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home. Arrangements by Costner-Maloy.
