U.S. Veteran Dale Scott Green, age 60, of Del Rio, passed away, Sunday, May 10, 2009 at Johnson City Medical Center. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army and the National Guard. He was a member of Grassy Fork Church of Christ. Dale was known as “Mr. Bluegrass”. He enjoyed blue grass music and played with his own band for a while. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Doris Green; sister, Eula Wilson; niece, Karen Wilson; and nephew, Tony Barnett. He is survived by his brothers, George (Alene) Green, Del Rio, Kenneth (Alma) Green, Newport, Johnny (Gayle) Green, Cosby; sisters, Aurine (Ray) Barnett, Del Rio, Geraldine Green, Del Rio, Brenda (J.D.) Wilburn, Del Rio, JoAnn (Troy) Wilburn, Del Rio, and Betty (Michael) Jones, Hartford; brother-in-law, Henry Wilson, Ohio; aunt, Robbie Sparks, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends. Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm, Tuesday, May 12, 2009 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 13, 2009 in Green-Laws Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral.
