EMERT, VICTOR KENNETH - 84, of Maryville, died July 4, 2000 at Asbury Acres in Maryville. He was a member of Williamson Chapel Methodist Church where he participated as leader of music for many years. He has been a well respected farmer in Blount County for more than 47 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was decorated for his participation in the European Theater of World War II. Mr. Emert was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Winnie Leatherwood Emert; his parents, George W. and Bessie Lucinda Maples Emert; sister, Reva Joyce Emert; brother, Otha Emert; son, Victor Gene Emert. Victor was first married to Hazel Shultz Ridley, but later divorced. She also preceded him in death.
Victor is survived by his children and their spouses, Fredrick K. and Dottie Emert of Bentonville, Ark., George H. and Billie Emert of Logan, Utah, Rosetta June and Virgil Mitchell of Biloxi, Miss.; daughter in law, Arlene Emert Carter of Dalton, Ga.; brothers and sisters in law , Carl R. and Marie Emert, Stanley G. and Joanne Emert, Sr., all of Maryville, Glenn C. and Amy Emert of Morristown, Paul K. and Shirley Emert of Greeneville, Willie K. and Loeta Emert of Dandridge; sisters and brother in law, Hazel L. Wells of Sevierville, Ruby and J.T. Fox of Sevierville, Iva Ruth Roberts of Knoxville; sister in law, Annie Mae Emert, widow of Otha Emert, Maryville; 10 grandchildren; 19 u great grandchildren; and special friend, Christine Jones. Visitation will be held Thursday July 6, from 6-8 p.m. at the Williamson Chapel Methodist Church in Blount County. Funeral services will be held Friday July 7, at 10 a.m. at Union Grove Methodist Church in Sevier County with Rev. Gaye King officiating. Interment will follow at Union Grove Methodist Church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Rawlings Funeral Home in Sevierville.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Rawlings Funeral Home in Sevierville.
