He was a veteran having served in the United States Army during WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lou Valentine; parents, Lloyd D. and Fannie Valentine; brothers, Beecher and Curtis Valentine; sisters, Rosa Baxter, Artelle Baxter, Birdie Jenkins and Millie J. Whitlock. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Crawford (Conkey) and Evelyn Valentine, Cosby, Clifton (Pud) and Elayne Valentine, Newport, Curtis and Poneta Valentine, Parrottsville, Clinton (Sam) and Kathy Valentine, Sevierville; daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and David Gregg, Cosby; brothers, Lee Valentine and Elmer (Cotton) Valentine; grandchildren, Mickey Valentine and wife Loretta, Karen (Sissy) Bryant and husband Tony, Timmy Valentine, Chris J. Gregg and wife Nikki; great grandchildren, Ariel Valentine, Erica Valentine, Zachary Phillips, Baylie Gregg, Christian Gregg, Chandler Gregg and Tayler Gregg; also several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
