Mr. James M. ' Jimmy ' Allen , age 80 , passed away Sunday , May 29 , 2016 , at Newport Medical Center . Mr. Allen attended Crossroads Community Church as long as his health allowed. He was retired from Stokely Van Camp, Ball Corporation, and Cocke County Landfill. He was preceded in death by his children Tommy, Teresa, Lisa, and Retha, parents John B. Allen , Sr. and Arlie Allen , brother John B. Allen , Jr., and sister Frances Allen Brooks. Survivors include his loving wife Jean Allen , sister Bernice Strickler, sisters-in-law Dorothy Allen , Ruth Nease, Shelia and Soynia Pruitt, brothers-in-law Joe Pruitt, Jimmy Pruitt, and Luther Pruitt. Additional survivors include many nieces, nephews, and caregiver Alyse St. George. Funeral services were held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016 , in the Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Clevenger officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Thursday morning at Union Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. interment. The family received friends from 5:00—7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home prior to the funeral services. Funeral arrangements by Costner-Maloy.
