Ruble Allen, age 77, of Newport passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012 at his home from a long battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by parents, Ken and Jannie Allen; grandson, Russ Allen; daughter-in-law, Darline Allen; brother-in-law, Charles Williams; and sisters-in-law, Brenda Allen and Faye Allen. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jean Allen; sons, Greg Allen and Willie Allen; daughter, Marianne Clark and husband, Tony; brothers, Jack and Roger Allen; sisters, Thelma Williams, Ella Mae Large and husband, Don, Faye Atkins and husband, Charles, and Jo Ann Freeman and husband, Wendell; grandchildren, Amanda Curtis and husband, Jordan of Athens, TN, Matthew Allen and Macy Allen of Newport; great-grandchildren, Maddie Curtis of Athens, TN and Houston Allen of Newport; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 pm Monday, June 18, 2012 at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Cleo Williamson officiating. Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, June 19, 2012 in the Allen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday at Manes Funeral Home prior to funeral service.
