Quillen V.A. Medical Center at Mountain Home after an extended illness. He was retired truck driver and a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of V.F.W. Post #1990 and he was a Christian. Survivors include his wife: Betty Brown Roberts; one daughter: Della King and special friend: Kenny Cogburn, of Greeneville; one step-daughter: Gail Wilson, of Jefferson City, Tenn.; one step-son: William "Billy" Holder, of Burnsville, N.C.; five step-grandchildren, including a special granddaughter: Mystyckle Wilson; seven step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Beatrice Miller, of Chuckey, and Edith Rigsby, of Greeneville; three brothers: Joe Roberts, of Chuckey; Avery Roberts, of Alexandria, N.C.; and Jimmy Roberts, of Eden, N.C.; several nieces and nephews. He was a son of the late W.J. and Della Anzia Roberts and was preceded in death by his brothers, B.H. Roberts and two infant brothers. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Rose Hill Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Williams will officiate. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Friday to go in procession to GreeneLawn Memory Gardens for the 10 a.m. military graveside service. V.F.W. Post #1990, American Legion Post #64, and the Tennessee Army National Guard will conduct military honors. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 4-6 p.m. Thursday at Rose Hill Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Allen Bowers, George Hampsey, Donnie Franklin, Mike Garner, Billy Shope, and Keith Rigsby. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Garner, Sgt.
