E.J.Gobble, 72 years of age, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 13, 1934 at 3:30 a.m. at his home on Middle Creek following illness of one week. He was born May 16, 1862.
Surviving are his widow, four sons, Dave of Knoxville, Sam of Middle Creek, Hoover and Alonzo of Hamilton, OH; sis daughters Mae Gobble of Middle Creek, Mrs. W.C.Duggan of Knoxville, Mrs. Glen Meeks and Mrs. Mattie Ward of Hamilton, OH, Mrs. Grace Norman of Powell’s Station, Mrs. Robert Hypes of Bluefield WV; four sisters, Miss Emma Gobble, Mrs. Charles A. Hutchinson, and Mrs. George McMahan all of the Seaton Springs Community, and Mrs Allie Townsend of South Carolina; and one brother, Mack Gobble of Arkansas.
Funeral services were held this morning at 10:00 a.m. at the home conducted by Rev. W.M.Bull and Rev. Russell M. Huff. Interment was in the McMahan Chapel Cemetery.
