He was born July 2, 1929, in Knoxville. He was retired from Orgill Brothers as wholesale hardware salesman in Putnam and in eight surrounding counties. He was a veteran serving in the US Army Korean War. Member of VFW and Friendship United Methodist Church in Cookeville, formerly Parkview. Preceded in death by parents, William Aaron and Anne Elizabeth (McCarter) Hatcher; sister, Kathleen Lantz. Survivors: wife, Barbara (Hunt) Hatcher, Cookeville; son and daughter- in-law, Stephen and Darlene Hatcher, Cookeville; daughter and son-in- law, Sandra and Richard Roberts, Wilmington, N.C.; sister and brother- in-law, Mary Frances and Raymond Gourley, Maryville; brother-in-law, Henry Lantz, Leland, N.C.; grandson, Matthew Charles Roberts, Wilmington, N.C.; granddaughters, Sarah Marie Roberts, Wilmington, N.C., Holly Anne Hatcher, Cookeville; aunt, Nancy King, Maryville; and a host of other relatives and friends.
