  [S4] Knoxville News-Sentinel (Tennessee), 22 Feb 1999. MAPLES, WILLARD - age 61, of Seymour, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 1999, at NHC Fort Sanders after a brief illness. He was a native of Sevier County and son of the late McKinley and Virgie McCarter Maples. Mr. Maples was the local owner of Pepperidge Farms Franchise and a member of the Oak City Baptist Church in Seymour. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ethel Caughron and Ruby Williams. He is survived by his loving family: wife, Delores Welch Maples, Seymour; daughter, Donna Maples, Sevierville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lottie and Fred Loveday, Sevierville, Della and Sanders Whaley, Rockford, Tenn. and Beulah Purkey and John Atkins, Woodstock, Ga.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred and Patsy Maples, Pigeon Forge, and Ben and Justeen Maples, Sevierville; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Maples is at Highland South Funeral Home, Chapman Highway where the family will receive friends Monday from 5-8 p.m. with services at 8 p.m. with Rev. Tim Fleeger officiating. Interment 11 a.m. Tuesday at Highland South Cemetery. For those who desire, please make memorials to the Oak City Baptist Church Building Fund, 211 Main Street, Seymour, TN 37865.
