Claude Newton Huff Sr., age 87 of Sevierville, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Fort Sanders in Knoxville on Sunday, July 12, 2009. Claude worked his early years driving for Trailways and then Sevier County Utility District. He retired with 40 years of service from John H. Coleman Company and then worked for the Cherokee Group until age 84. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Sevierville. He was active in the Civil Air Patrol for many years and also Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed carpentry and woodworking and growing orchids. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents Albert Newton and Hettie Butler Huff, brothers Lyman, Hugh, and Fred Huff, sister Dorothy McCarter Myers, and sisters-in-law Gladys Huff and Blanche Miller Huff.
Survivors include his:
Wife of 58 years: Casina Kilby Huff
Son: Claude N. Huff, Jr. and wife Linda
Grandchildren: Claude N. “Bo” Huff, III, Emily Danielle “Dani” Huff
Brothers: Elmer Huff and wife Carol, Ernest Huff and wife Mary Sue, Herman Huff and wife Jean
Sisters-in-law: Grace Huff, Betty Huff

Funeral service 1 PM Wednesday in the Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Ely officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery with military honors provided by American Legion Post 104. The family will receive friends 11 AM -1 PM Wednesday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
