Walker, Ruth Edna Conatser, after a lingering illness, departed this life on Tuesday, December 20, 2005, at her home with her husband and daughter in attendance. She was born February 14, 1919, in Knoxville, TN, to Julia and Pink E. Conatser and lived her entire life in the Knoxville area. Her loving and devoted husband of 58 years, John Harvey Walker, survives her. Preceding her in death were her parents, her first child, June Walker, her stepmother, Mamie Conatser, and her sister, Dorothy McCarter. In her life she was an artist, a poet, a peacemaker, a gardener, and at times, a carpenter and a plumber. She loved reading and music, but most of all she loved her family and spending time with them was her greatest joy. She was a devout Christian and a member of the Non-Denominational Church. Always a faithful servant, she has gone to be with her Heavenly Father but will live always in the hearts of those who love her.
