Harry Edwin Chandler , 63, of Huntsville passed away Friday.
Harry had lived in the Huntsville area since 1955. He worked for Tyonek Manufacturing Group of the Tyonek Native Corp., serving as vice president of marketing for the past few years. In addition, he worked for several defense-related businesses in marketing and contract administration capacities, including Brown Engineering, Teledyne Brown, and SES. His passion for his work was boundless, and his work family included an ever-expanding network of friends and close associates. Harry is best remembered for his compassion, caring, and generosity. He had a unique ability to blend these ideals in all his business endeavors.
Harry is survived by his parents, Gil and Belle Chandler of Winter Springs, Fla.; son, Lea Chandler and wife Sarah of Huntsville; two granddaughters, Aren and Rachel; stepdaughter, Karla Brock of Cincinnati; brother, Dennis Chandler and wife Janet of Eugene, Ore.; sister, Karen Trachsel of Winter Park, Fla.; several nieces; and one nephew.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today from First Christian Church. A reception will be held at Mr. Chandler 's residence following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to one of the following organizations: Clearview Cancer Institute, Russel Hill Foundation, www.ccihsv.com; LIVESTRONG, Lance Armstrong Foundation, www.livestrong.org; or a charity of your choice.
