In the matter of the Application for Letters of Administration on the Goods, Chattels and Credits of Samuel J. Smith, late of the City of Brooklyn deceased, Intestate.
Kings County, To wit:
I, Eleanor F. Smith of the City of Brooklyn being duly sworn and examined, Do Depose and say, that I am the widow of the said Samuel J. Smith deceased; that said deceased departed this life at the City of Brooklyn on the 12th day of August in the year 1872, without leaving any last Will or Testament that said deceased died possessed of certain personal property in the State of New York, the value of which does not exceed the sum of about fifteen hundred dollars as I have been informed and believe; that said deceased left surviving his widow, your applicant and six children, to wit; Eleanor E. Smith aged 19 years, Elizabeth M. Smith, Albert J. Smith, aged 11 years, Charles Smith aged 9 years, Harry Smith, aged 7 years, and Arthur Smith, aged 5 years, minors having no general guardian, all residing with their mother, your applicant, in the City of Brooklyn only next of kin; that said deceased was at the time of his death an inhabitant of the County of Kings,
And I ask that Letters of Administration on the estate of said deceased be granted to the Surrogate of the County of Kings to me and that Edmund L. Wheeler of the City of Brooklyn, be associated with me in this administration.
