GELHAR, WANDA FLORENCE HOLLAND - age 73, of Knoxville, passed away Easter Sunday, April 23, 2000 at St. Mary's Residential Hospice after a lengthy illness. She was a member of New Fellowship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward and Anna Mae Holland; 2 brothers, James Holland and Lloyd Holland; and sister-in-law, Opal Holland. Survivors include her husband, Ernest Gelhar; daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah Phillips, Joyce and Sam McPhetridge, and Queena and Eric Jones; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Susan Gelhar and Jess and Lisa Gelhar. She had 8 grandchildren: Amy, Pam, and Courtney Phillips, Ashley and Misty Gelhar, Tania Lawson, and Sarah and Jim McPhetridge. She is survived by 3 brothers, Wilford Holland, Dale Holland, and John Holland and 3 sisters, Chloe Johnson, Dean Banks, and Carolyn Strunk. The family will receive friends at Stevens Mortuary 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 25. A graveside service, led by Rev. Wayne Lay will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday April 26 at Greenwood Cemetery. The procession will leave Stevens Mortuary at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday. Pallbearers Myron Clarke, Terry Loveday, Jeff Maxwell, Buzz Thomas, Rick Lawson, Mike Loveday, and Danny Penland. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of New Fellowship Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Women for Christ ministry of New Fellowship Baptist Church, 4624 Nora Rd., Knoxville, TN 37918. The family expresses a special thank you to the staff of St. Mary's Residential Hospice.
