A retired electrician for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, he was a native of Jelico, Tenn., and was the widower of Kathleen Ridenour. Survivors include a daughter, Becky James, and her husband, Harvey, of Jacksonville, Fla.; son, George R. Ridenour, and his wife, Debra, of Chesapeake; two brothers, Billy Ridenour and Carson Ridenour, both of Tennessee; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A graveside funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. W. Thomas Wood.
