HOWARD W. - age 71, of Greenback, passed away Saturday evening, Feb. 20, 1999, at the family home. Member and deacon of Greenback Memorial Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Homer and Lucy Byrd; sister, Mildred Byrd. Survivors: wife, Ethel Byrd; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Gene Clabough, Knoxville; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Annabelle Byrd, Berea, Ky.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, Greenback Memorial Baptist Church, 292 Highway 95 N., Greenback, Rev. Ron Bailey officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum for the entombment. Memorial contributions may be made to the Blount Memorial Hospital Hospice Mercy Fund, 1095 E. Lamar Alexander Pkwy., Maryville, TN 37804. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Greenback Memorial Baptist Church. Arrangements by Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
