Homer Lonzo McCarter , 91, died Sunday, January 24, 2010, at NHC Healthcare of Lawrenceburg.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Neal Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg with Charles Gresham officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.
He was a native of Leoma, member of Meadowview Baptist Church, retired from the U.S. Navy and a veteran of WWII and son of the late Horace L. McCarter and Mary Sizemore McCarter .
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Smith, five brothers, one grandson, and one granddaughter.
Survivors include Pauline Brown McCarter of Lawrenceburg; daughters Barbara Early of Athens, Ala., Paula Smith of Ocala, Fla.; sisters Blanche Jones and Nettie Brown, both of Lawrenceburg, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
