Whaley, Glenn McKinley age 75, of Knoxville, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2007 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was a member of Lake Forest Presbyterian Church. Glenn was a graduate of Young High School and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a retired salesman for Duracap Paving Company, and was a long-time little league coach for the South Knoxville Optimist Club. He was preceded in death by parents, Hugh and Ruby Whaley.
Survivors
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Joyce Julian Whaley; daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Phil Johnson; daughter, Sylvia Whaley; grandchildren, Blake Johnson and wife, Angie; Bethany Schultz and husband, Corey; Logan Johnson; Caleb Whaley and Cameron Whaley; sister, Leona Fleming and husband, Ralph; brothers, Jim Whaley and wife, Linda; and Wayne Whaley and wife, Pearl; five nieces and two nephews; and mother-in-law, Ethel Julian.
Service
Family will receive friends 6-8PM Sunday in Berry Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 8PM. Rev. Jason Haas and Rev. Mark Williams officiating. . Family and friends will meet Monday at Woodlawn Cemetery for a 11AM Interment Service. Memorials may be made to the Lake Forest Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 714 E. Lake Forest Dr, Knoxville, TN 37920, or to the American Heart Association, 4708 Papermill Dr, Knoxville, TN 37909. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Cassandra Gibbs and Dr. Richard McBride for their compassionate care.
