Dorothy Hodges Galyon, born July 18, 1923, died peacefully at home June 1 at the age of 89. She was a member of Knob Creek Baptist Church, and was the devoted wife of 70 years of Rev. W. A. Galyon, serving by his side in churches in Sevier, Jefferson, and Blount counties. She delighted in church work by serving where needed in ministry: playing the piano, teaching, and serving in missions organizations. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She retired from Newman's Music Studio where she taught beginning piano students for over 20 years.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents: James Otha & Mary Alice Odom Hodges; brothers, Fred, Roy, Ira, Hugh, and sister, Ruth McDonald, and 11 half-brothers and sisters..
Survivors: husband, W. A. Galyon; daughters and sons-in-law: Gayle and Bob Henry, Alpharetta, GA; Helen and Jerry Neas, Greeneville, TN; Patsy and Roy Bradford, Seymour. Grandchildren & spouses: Staci and Eric Johnson, Clemson, SC; Brian and Jo Neas, Greensboro, NC; Kelli and Jonathan Trexler, Rehoboth, Mass; Brent and Kalissa Neas, Ooltewah, TN; Todd Neas, Greeneville, TN; Jason and Charlie Bradford, Sevierville. Great-grandchildren: Tinley, Troy & Trent Johnson; Brianna, Savannah, Jaelyn, & Tripp Neas; Miles & Amelia Trexler, Jack and Cooper Bradford. Sisters: Pauline Peek, Calhoun, GA; Jean Barnes, Mt. Juliet, TN; and Stella Manning, Sevierville, and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.

Funeral service 11 AM Wednesday in Atchley's Seymour Chapel with Rev. Floyd Powell, Rev. Ronnie White, Rev. Cotton Kelly and Rev. Terry Parton officiating. Interment will follow in Boyd's Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-7 PM Tuesday at Atchley Funeral Home Seymour 122 Peacock Court, Seymour, TN 37865 (577-2807).
