McCARTER, SIMEON ISSAC - age 90, of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 1999 at his home. Mr. McCarter was a native of Sevier County and a member of the Baptist faith. He retired with 32 years of service from Alcoa Aluminum where he was a member of The 25 Year Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Davenport McCarter; sisters, Adie Loveday and Grace Stoffle; brothers, Sam, Roy, Raymond and John McCarter. He is survived by his loving family, wife, Mrs. Ella Lanning McCarter of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jack Latham of Seymour; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Lisa McCarter of Walland, Jim and Wanda McCarter of Chattanooga; brothers, Charles McCarter of Sevierville; grandchildren, Dennis Latham and wife, Cherie, Ashley and Luke Gibson, Karen Latham, Kristie McCarter and Brad McCarter. Mr. McCarter is at Highland South Funeral Home, 9010 Valgro Road, where services will be at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Troy Cody officiating. Interment to follow at Highland South Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Highland South Funeral Home, 573-7300.
