KING, BILLY WADE, SR. - age 79, of Knoxville, passed away 8:45 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Parkwest Medical Center. He was a member and Trustee of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, retired from L. B. Smith, Inc., past Master of the F. M. Powell Masonic Lodge #582, Scottish Rite Mason, and Kerbella Shriner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie King; parents, Walter and Lily King, sons, Donald Walden and Marvin Tipton; brothers, Wayne, Leroy, Floyd, Boyd, Eugene, and Reverend Clell King; sisters, Bea Keener and Betty Huskey; step-mother, Nola King. Survivors: wife of 20 years, Helen Vickers King of Knoxville; daughter, Shirley Keesee of Powell; daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie Sue and Edward Clayton of Lenoir City; son, Billy King, Jr. of Knoxville; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Debra Walden of Carrollton, Georgia, Ed and Betty Vickers of Seymour; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Laura Nolan of Powell; daughter-in-law, Jerri Tipton of Smyrna, Georgia; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 1900 Richmond Road, Lexington, KY 40502 or the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund, 2500 East Fifth Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37914. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway with a funeral service to follow, Dr. Don Olive officiating. The family and friends will meet 10:45 a.m. Monday at Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery for a graveside service and interment at 11:00 a.m. Mr. King's guest book is available at www.stevensmortuaryinc.com.
