March 24, 1931 - March 14, 2018
Laura Blanche (Emert) Moyers passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, March 14th, 2018 in St. George, Utah surrounded by family. She was 86 years old.
Blanche was born on March 24, 1931 in Sevier County, Tennessee to Orie and Eunice Emert. She graduated from Pittman High School and attended Knoxville Business College. Blanche married Joel Moyers of Gatlinburg on March 14, 1952. They had two children, son Joe (Kenna) of Hartsel, Colorado and daughter, Louise (Joe) of Overton, Nevada. Blanche and Joel traveled extensively with the National Park Service, living in North Carolina, Kentucky, New Jersey, Michigan, New Mexico, New York and California before retiring back to Sevier County. Blanche made friends all over the country and was involved in the lives of many people. She dearly loved her family and friends. She truly never met a stranger.
Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, Joel and is survived by her son and daughter, four grandchildren, Joella (Blaine) Cox of Cedar City, Utah, Seth (Kristy) Culler of Orange Park Florida, Kayla Culler of Overton, Nevada, Jessy (Jeff) Hardy of Gatlinburg, Tennessee and four great-grandchildren, Tayah, Nixon, Taysen and Lainee.
Services will be at Rawlings Funeral Home in Sevierville on March 31st. Visitation will be from 10:00 am – 11:00 am, with the service starting at 11:00 am. Interment will follow the service at Shiloh Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to the Pittman Center Community Volunteer Fire Department at pittmancenterfire.com.
