Mitchell Franklin Pollard, 82, of Chattanooga and formerly of Kodak died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga.He was a member of Terra Vista Baptist Church and retired from Norfolk Southern. He was a World War II veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.Survivors include his wife, Pauline Pollard; son and daughter-in-law, J.C. and Wanda Pollard, all of Chattanooga; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Roy Underwood of Kodak and several nieces and nephews.Funeral service is 8 p.m. Tuesday at Fielden Funeral Chapel, New Market, with the Rev. Billy R. Baker and the Rev. James Cline officiating. Interment service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Beech Springs Cemetery with the Rev. Roger Underwood officiating and military honors by Volunteer State Honor Guard.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
